Teen Leader Graduate Luncheon 2010

This year, we say good-bye to three seniors, Arthur, Rebecca and Aqueelah.

Our graduate luncheon was held at House of Peace on May 1, 2010. Young people were called forward to receive certificates, introduce their families, and talk about what they had learned at House of Peace as Teen Leaders.

Miss Shirley and Mr. Randy provided a feast for us as parents and siblings enjoyed a fun afternoon of story telling and testimony about the significance of the leadership training provided to the Teen Leaders.

Several Teen Leaders, who graduated from the program in the past, returned to help us celebrate: Deresha, Marquis, Reggie, Kara, Bryan, Tianna and Erica.

Mr. Ian Harris from the Milwaukee Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) presented Lisa with the Eleanor Backus Peace Award, and a check for $200.00 because of her efforts teaching peacemaking skills to young people.

Arthur received the David Chang Memorial Scholarship and check for $1,000.

Miss Gerri Sheets Howard and Father Perry McDonald were on hand to congratulate the students.
