Joel Spiess

Tomorrow's Present played an important role in my development as a young leader.  After participating in the program for over four years, I am able to reflect not only on all of the spiritual growth I have undergone, but also on the valuable skills I had gained as a public speaker, presenter, and team member.  Those skills still come into play in the work I do everyday as a student, educator, and musician.

Tomorrow's Present brought me together with other teenagers who desired a deeper understanding of our role as youth in the Catholic church.  The various workshops - consisting of role plays, small group activities, and large group games - provided insight into the call God has for all children of his church: to be involved as fully as possible.  Still today I share a special bond with my fellow team members at Tomorrow's Present.

Tomorrow's Present certainly has the potential to alter the understanding and involvement of youth in the church, but it also carries a strong message for adults.  Tomorrow is present - it's here right now.  And we - the youth of the church - are that present.
