Pebbles of Peace Outweighing Boulders of Violence
Boulders of Violence are so overwhelming. Gangs. Drive-by shootings. Bullying. Rape. Murder. How can one peaceful pebble make a difference? By organizing with others and uniting our efforts! Pebbles of peace can and do outweigh boulders of violence.
“Pebbles of Peace Outweighing Boulders of Violence” is a day-long youth forum that brings together high school students from all over the metro Milwaukee area. With support from the House of Peace Teen Leaders, we explore violence in Milwaukee and empower youth to advocate for a peaceful city by designing and implementing projects that address violence in their schools and neighborhoods.

Each year, we start off with an Autumn youth forum that gathers high school students from different churches, schools and organizations and gives them an opportunity to learn about violence and talk about possible solutions. Then each group designs a project to address violence in some way. Then we re-gather for a springtime celebration to tell the story of what peacemaking projects were created and celebreate our successes. This event is open to the public.
