The House of Peace was established by the Capuchin Friars of nearby St. Francis Parish in 1968. The Capuchins are a Roman Catholic Order of Brothers shaped by the heritage of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis created a community of equality whose mission is proclaiming the Good News and being available to all people, especially those shuned by society.  Today, the executive director of the House of Peace is Brother Mark Carrico, OFM, Capuchin. In the spirit of St. Francis Assisi, the House of Peace continues to serve the needs of the people in Milwaukee’s inner city.

The Teen Leaders

Learn more...

The Teen Leaders are a group of high school students who receive leadership training and are actively involved in providing two Tomorrow’s Present programs.

Wisdom and Learning of Teen Leaders 2007-2008.

They meet one or two Saturdays each month during the school year for preparation; they are presenters at “Pebbles of Peace outweighing Boulders of Violence” every November, and they present “Hope Is Something You Do” every January and March.

They have a retreat every fall, and a luncheon every May. Their parents and families are invited to three events each year – the brunch following their fall retreat, the “Pebbles” open house every April, and the May luncheon.

Our Generous Supporters

Learn more...

Tomorrow’s Present is a collection of youth leadership programs. Most of the these programs take place in the central city of Milwaukee where schools, churches, and families are not able to pay for these services.

Although some of the funding comes the contracted work (retreats, trainings, parish missions, etc) that Dr. Calderone is able to do, most of the funding for Tomorrow’s Present comes from individual donations and from grants from Foundations.

We are very grateful for the generosity of others who are willing to support our ministry!
