On March 19, 2010, Dr. Lisa-Marie Calderone-Stewart was honored along with 14 other women by the US Post Office as “Women Putting their Stamp on Metro Milwaukee.” Her category was “humanitarianism.”
Dr. Calderone received a plaque decorated with postal stamps featuring famous women, a Certificate of Special Recognition from US Senator Russ Feingold, a certificate of Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Gwen Moore, and an official recognition from Mayor Tom Barrett.
She was also given a sheet of twenty stamps with her picture on them, official 44 cent stamps a person can use to legally mail a letter.

Dr. Lisa Calderone-Stewart has dedicated her life to the service of Milwaukee’s central city youth, mainly through her work as director of Tomorrow’s Present at House of Peace. She trains the Teen Leaders there and has developed other youth leadership programs as well.
Tomorrow’s Present is the youth leadership ministry of House of Peace and The Leadership Center of Cardinal Stritch University. Their mission is to empower youth and adults to transform their communities through learning, reflection, leadership and service. This youth ministry helps to shape young leaders with a variety of programs, such as Hope Is Something You Do, Pebbles of Peace Outweighing Boulders of Violence, Interfaith Youth Café, Middle School Youth Forums and the “Lil Johnnie” Literacy Program.
Calderone-Stewart has two adult sons, three grandchildren and three nieces, all of whom give her great joy. When not working, she enjoys swimming, calligraphy, writing, and arts and crafts with younger family members. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Holy Cross, a Master’s in Education from Lesley College, another Master’s in Pastoral Studies from Loyola and a Doctorate in Education from Cardinal Stritch University.
